Inserm Laboratory Scientists, in collaboration with the Clinical Investigation Centre and virologists at the Saint-Louis hospital in Paris, have shown a relation between the presence of human Herpes virus 8 (HHV-8) antibodies and an atypical form of type 2 diabetes in persons from Sub-Saharan Africa, according to a preliminary study published in the June 18 issue of JAMA.
