Interrupted last March because of the pandemic, registrations for the international ActInSpace® competition have just reopened, and candidates have less than 40 days left to submit their project online, on: www.actinspace.org
Midway between a start-up weekend and a hackathon, ActInSpace® was born in 2014 as a https://fscience-old.originis.fr/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/GLOC_Oslo_Norway_S2_27juillet2022_web-2-1.jpg initiative. Co-organised with the European Space Agency (ESA) and operated by Aerospace Valley, it takes place every 2 years. The objective is to imagine the products and services of tomorrow using satellite data or space applications.
The principle is the following: during just 24 hours, teams of 2 to 5 people with different profiles and throughout the world take up one of the challenges set up by https://fscience-old.originis.fr/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/GLOC_Oslo_Norway_S2_27juillet2022_web-2-1.jpg and ESA, based on their patents or on data provided by the event’s partners (Airbus, GSA, ESSP, SES, WEKEO …).
Through these challenges, combining proactiveness, pushing the limits and team spirit, ActInSpace® fosters and facilitates entrepreneurship, especially among young people, while promoting space technologies for daily uses, for the benefit of citizens, employment and our planet. The best team wins a ZeroG flight in the European astronaut’s aircraft and all the competitors get the opportunity to be accompanied for the launch of their start-up!
This year, for the 4th edition, 75 cities in 45 countries are participating, across the 5 continents. Each city will organise its own edition of ActInSpace® on 13th and 14th November 2020. Depending on the sanitary situation, the hackathons will be organised live, digital or in a hybrid live / digital format.
With the support of many international partners, several prizes will reward the best teams:
- ActInSpace® Grand International Prize (in partnership with AirZeroG)
- Autonomous Car Prize (in partnership with Continental)
- Copernicus Prize (in partnership with WEkEO)
- Environment Prize (in partnership with Suez)
