For the 53rd International Paris Air Show at Le Bourget (SIAE 2019) opening on Monday 17 June, https://fscience-old.originis.fr/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/GLOC_Oslo_Norway_S2_27juillet2022_web-2-1.jpg will be showcasing France’s space activities as it does for every edition of the event in its pavilion and chalet, in front of the Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace, at the foot of the Ariane 5 mock-up.

A ‘retro-futuristic’ pavilion

Four six-metre-high LED screens and mock-ups of the Prometheus engine, the MicroCarb satellite and Ariane 6’s ELA4 launch pad will beckon visitors to enter https://fscience-old.originis.fr/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/GLOC_Oslo_Norway_S2_27juillet2022_web-2-1.jpg’s pavilion.

A series of modules will show the latest innovations in miniaturization, standardization and digitization of satellites, and the latest launch base developments at the Guiana Space Centre. Satellite applications in the fields of Earth observation, telecommunications, defence and space exploration will also be on display. A final module focused on international cooperation will give the German aerospace centre DLR the chance to present joint efforts being pursued in partnership by France and Germany. Each module will evoke a ‘retro-futuristic’ spacecraft with screens, panels and models presenting current and future projects and concepts.

In the centre of the pavilion, a holographic display showing the face of Arthur C. Clarke, the author of 2001: a Space Odyssey, will present the vision of the future imagined by this historic figure of the 1960s and 70s, a fairly accurate prediction of what we see today. Lastly, a Zero-Gravity module will enable visitors to take a photo of themselves giving the illusion of being in weightlessness aboard a space station.
