The French American Doctoral Exchanges (FADEx) Program was launched in 2014 by the Office for Science and Technology (SST) at the Embassy of France in the United States. Each edition of the program invites around ten American doctoral students, winners in a specific research field, to spend a week in France.
The main objectives of the program are as follows:
Promote scientific exchanges between French and American doctoral students working in the same scientific field.
Encourage the development of Franco-American collaborations.
Showcase the French research system to young American scientists.
The program is intended for doctoral-level students working in the specific field chosen for each edition. The application and selection procedures for doctoral students may vary between editions but are based on academic excellence and candidate motivation. They may be selected through a call for applications or by American universities due to their excellence in the program’s chosen research area.
