The Ministries of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE), and of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MESRI) in collaboration with Campus France are setting up a programme to host post-doctoral researchers wishing to carry out their research in France on Earth system sciences; climate change and sustainability sciences; energy transition; societal issues of environmental questions.

CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS: 5 JULY 2020

Launched on 2 June 2017 by the President of the Republic, the “Make Our Planet Great Again” initiative aims to attract foreign students and researchers working on the environment and climate to France. On the 2nd anniversary of the programme’s implementation, on 12 December 2019, the MEAE and MESRI scholarship holders were received by the President of the Republic, in the presence of the Ministers for Higher Education and Research, and for Ecological and Solidarity Transition, and the Secretary of State for European Affairs. The President of the Republic then insisted on the “globalisation of knowledge and good will”. The beneficiaries of the programme spoke about the content of their research work and stressed the importance of strengthening academic and scientific cooperation in the face of the environmental challenges facing our societies.

This new call for applications follows on from the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs’ action in the field of climate research, including biodiversity, poles, oceans, primary forests, including work in the human and social sciences on how to make the radical changes in lifestyles involved acceptable. It is intended to host post-doctoral researchers wishing to carry out their research in France on: Earth system sciences; climate change and sustainability sciences; energy transition; societal stakes of environmental issues.

Researchers must: Return manual line
– have held a doctoral degree for less than 5 years at the date of submission of the application; Manual line feed
– have the nationality of one of the eligible countries (see call for applications) ;Automatic return line
– not having resided in France after September 1, 2019.

The start of the post-doctoral contract in France must take effect from January 2021.
