INRAE

INRAE, the French national research institute for agriculture, food and the environment, was born on January 1, 2020. It is the result of the fusion between INRA, Institut national de la recherche agronomique and Irstea, Institut national de recherche en sciences et technologies pour l’environnement et l’agriculture.

INRAE is working with the Mission for Science and Technology to strengthen its relationships with North American research laboratories and academic institutions.

Its ambition is to take up, with its partners in the United States and Canada and with the help of structuring instruments for research, challenges that go beyond geographical and sectoral borders. The approaches must be transversal to the three founding elements of food, agriculture and the environment in order to integrate their interactions. By proposing, through research, innovation and support to public policies, new orientations to accompany the emergence of sustainable agricultural and food systems, INRAE aims to provide solutions for life, humans and the earth.
