Established by the CEA (Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique et aux Energies Alternatives) in 1963, the Nuclear Service is in charge of nuclear energy issues in its entirety: technical and scientific, economic, political, industrial and some defense aspects, for the United States and Canada. The department also conducts industry and technology watch activities and exchanges information with various American players in the sector. The department also represents the CEA in marketing activities in the field of new technologies in order to better understand the American counterparts of the CEA in this sector, as well as in business development activities in order to better promote the excellence of applied research within the CEA laboratories, particularly in the development of new technologies for energy, information, health and the environment at CEA Tech.
