Set up by the CEA (Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique et aux Energies Alternatives) in 1963, the Nuclear Service is in charge of nuclear energy issues as a whole: technical and scientific, economic, political, industrial and certain defence aspects, for the United States and Canada. The department also carries out industrial and technological watch activities and exchanges of information with various American players in the sector.

Also representing the CEA, the department implements marketing activities in the field of new technologies to better know the CEA’s American counterparts in this sector, as well as business development activities to better publicize the excellence of applied research within the CEA laboratories, particularly for the development of new technologies for energy, information, health and the environment at CEA Tech.
